The Kallady-based 231 Infantry Brigade HQ on Friday (11 Nov) commemorated its 11th Anniversary giving pride of place to military formalities during a brief ceremony.
Brigadier Dilupa Bandara, Commander, 231 Infantry Brigade in accordance with military traditions was warmly welcomed by Brigade troops on arrival at the premises. A colourful Guard Turnout saluted him at the entrance after he reviewed it upon his arrival on the anniversary day (11). Subsequently, the Brigade Commander planted a sapling on the premises and was invited to pose for a group photograph with Staff Officers and Other Ranks in the Brigade.
Later on, Brigadier Dilupa Bandara addressed all ranks of the Brigade and called upon all to continue their dedicated roles while maintaining the highest standards of discipline.
A customary all-rank lunch brought the simple commemorative event to an end in the afternoon.
