To coincide with the government’s National Health Week, the officers and soldiers at the Panagoda Army cantonment recently conducted a Shramadana campaign in and around the premises with the objective of supporting the Health Ministry’s Dengue eradication programme.
Hundreds of Army personnel cleaned gutters, drains, culverts and all other mosquito breeding spots in the premises during the campaign. Health Ministry conducted its awareness week (3 - 10 October) with the participation of island-wide health sector workers, school children and civilians.
