A large group of about 400 Tri-service Officers, Other Ranks and Policemen who provided the maximum security and safety to the Shangri La Hotel when the hotel came under the brutal attack of National Thowheeth Jama'ath (NTJ) terrorists in April, this year, were appreciated by the hotel management, hosting all of them to a special dinner.
Mr Timothy Wright, General Manager of Shangri La Hotel, and Galle Face Hotel extended this invitation to the Security Forces and the Police in order to appreciate their service at the time the hotel’s security was threatened seconds after the dastardly crime which claimed a few hundreds of lives on Easter Sunday.
Major General Chula Abeynayake, General Officer Commanding, 14 Division attended the occasion representing the Army, together with senior Officers of the Navy, Air Force and the Police.
