500 students from Mullaittivu representing 8 schools who are expected to sit the GCE O/L examination in December are now attending a 12-day long seminar, organized by the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) at Puthukkudiyirippu Madya Maha Vidyalayam at forthcoming weekends.
A team of teachers from Colombo Isipathana Vidyalaya has been delivering those much-wanted lectures in Tamil medium, thanks to the sponsorship, provided by Ven Dr Gunarathana Thero of Lankaramaya, Singapore exclusively for this event.
Mathematics, Science and English were the main subjects that are to be covered during these seminars. The inaugural address was delivered by Major General Jagath Dias, Commander, SFHQ-MLT on Saturday (27).
These seminar sessions will be conducted for the benefit of all school students in the SFHQ-MLT areas and the inaugural seminar at Puthukkudiyirippu Madya Maha Vidyalayam drew a total of 265 students.
Meanwhile, the same group of teachers from Isipathana Maha Vidyalaya Colombo, together with some other teachers from Anula Vidyalaya and Maharagama Teachers’ Training College conducted a two-day seminar for O/L students at Parakramabahu Vidyalaya at Yaya 11/12.
More than 50 students attended the seminar, coordinated by the 622 Brigade of the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni.
