Troops of the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West) conducted a mosquito prevention campaign under the close supervision of Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, SFHQ-West and on the directions of the Ministry of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine during 29 March - 04 April, 2016.
The 6-day long campaign to be conducted by the troops serving under 14 and 58 Divisions with the assistance of Medical Officers and Public Health Inspectors (PHI) in the area.
Around 1090 officers and other ranks serving in the 14 Division & 58 Division took part in this programme at Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Galle, Matara, Ratnapura, Kegalle, Kurunegala and Puttalam districts for control of this deadly epidemic on Thursday (29).
More and more troops will continue to assist the programme in the next few days.
