SFHQ - West Troops Assist Dengue Prevention Programme

Troops of the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West) launched a ‘Dengue’ prevention campaign during March 11–12 on the directions of the Ministry of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine with the coordination of the National Dengue Control Unit. Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, SFHQ-West coordinated the participation of the troops in the drive.

Troops serving under the 14 and 58 Divisions conducted the programme with assistance of Medical Officers and Public Health Inspectors (PHI) in the area.

Around 200 officers and other ranks serving under the 14 Division in Colombo, Gampaha and Kurunegala districts were engaged in several areas, including Piliyandala, Homagama, Kaduwela,, Maharagama, Moratuwa, Attanagalla, Biyagama, Kelaniya and Kurunegala for control this deadly epidemic.

05 officers with 70 other ranks serving under the 58 Division, deployed in Kalutara and Matara districts were engaged in Panadura, Horana, Wadduwa, Bandaragama and Matara for the same two-day campaign.
