Security Force Headquarters-West (SFHQ-West) commemorated its 4th anniversary on 15 November 2016 at its Headquarters inside the Army Cantonment, Panagoda.
With a view to bestowing merits on fallen War Heroes, a Bodhipooja was conducted by Ven. Senarathgama Dharmarathne Thero at Panagoda Bhodirajarama Temple premises.
The Commander, Security Forces-West (SF-West) Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe and Major General A.W.M.A.W.N Ranawana, General Officer Commanding, 58 Division together with all officers and other ranks serving the SFHQ-West attended the Bodhipooja and the religious event.
On arrival at the SFHQ-West premises, the SF Commander was welcomed by Brigadier Admin & Quartering and Brigadier General Staff.
The SF-West Commander was greeted to a guard turnout by the Sri Lanka Engineers troops serving in the SFHQ-West at the main entrance of the Army Cantonment, Panagoda on the anniversary day in accordance with military formalities.
The SF-West Commander afterwards received the Guard of Honour presented by his troops in the company of the parade commander.
Later on, the Commander addressed all ranks and an all rank tea brought the event to an end.
Major General Aruna Jayasekera, General Officer Commanding, 14 Division, Brigade Commanders and Commanding Officers took part in the day’s anniversary ceremony.
