A free distribution of 100 relief dry ration packs for selected low income families in Thelingu village, Nochchikulam got underway on Saturday (05).
This initiative was launched on the instructions of the Commander, Security Forces- Wanni Major General Hemantha Bandara, and under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding, 21 Infantry Division following generous patronage, extended by Watawala Tea Plantations Ltd.
Mrs Anuradha Dassanayake, Senior Brand Manager, Watawala Tea Company and Mr. Altaf Yakub, Brand Manager Watawala Ayur Tea coordinated the distribution project. Commander Security Forces-Wanni Major General Hemantha Bandara, Divisional Secretary Vavuniya South (Sinhala) Mr P M A K Kumara, Mr Darshana Sangeeth Ilangasingha Watawala Tea Company, Officers and Other Ranks of the SFHQ-W were also present at the location.
On the same day Watawala Tea Company distributed Ayur Tea for use among personnel in quarantine at Pampemadu and Periyakadu Quarantine Centers in Vavuniya.
