SFHQ-Wanni Launches Awareness Programme on 'Drug Addiction & Controlling'

A programme to create awareness on ‘Drug Addiction and Controlling,’ organized by the National Dangerous Drug Control Board (NDDCB) began on Tuesday (15) at the Security Force Headquarters – Wanni (SFHQ-W) with the participation of more than 300 Army personnel.

The gathering was educated on illegal drugs used in Sri Lanka and its harmful social, economic and health aspects. Resource persons Mr Chamara Pradeep Karunaratne, the Educational and Information Officer at the NDDCB and the Psychological Counsellor Ms Iresha Indeewari contributed to the sessions.

A total of 18 Officers and 310 Other Rankers representing all under command formations to the SFHQ took part in the timely important programme, conducted on the directions of Major General Kumudu Perera, Commander, Security Forces – Wanni.

Principal Staff Officers, Senior Officers, Officers and a gathering of Other Rankers took part in the programme.
