A group of Defence Attaches (DAs) and Advisors from Indian-based embassies and High Commissions from Australia, China, Canada, France, Germany, Netherlands, Pakistan, United Kingdom and the United States jointly made a formal courtesy visit to the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) on Tuesday (13) as part of their familiarization programmes.
Major General Champaka Ranasinghe, Commander, Security Forces - Wanni after a warm reception submitted a comprehensive presentation to the diplomats, in which he briefed the visitors on current roles of Wanni troops with specific focus on security, community development, civil-military cooperation, reconciliation and peace-building, etc.
At the culmination of the discussion, Major General Champaka Ranasinghe presented symbolic mementoes to the visiting diplomats.
