‘Poson Udawai Daham Amawai’ A Poson Bakthi Gee recital organized by the Security Force Headquarters -Wanni (SFHQ-W) with the direction of Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, SFHQ-W, took place at the school playground of Swarnapalee Convent, Anuradhapura on account of the Poson Full Moon Poya day on Tuesday (17).
This event was conducted under the guidance of Ven. Pallegama Siriniwasa Thero, Chief Incumbent at Atamasthana and Ven. Nugatenne Pragnananda thero, Chief Incumbent at Sri Sambuddha Jayanthi Viharaya.
The occasion was graced by religious leaders of main religions, including Ven. Pallegama Siriniwasa Thero, Ven. Nugatenne Pragnananda Thero and the Commander of the SFHQ-W, Major General Boniface Perera as the Chief Guest, together with several invitees in the area.
The Bethi Gee group of Sri Seelananda Dhamma School, Pannala and the Army band presented more than 25 recitals at the occasion.
Meanwhile, an exhibition of Poson lanterns, to be in parallel with the Bakthi Gee recital and a ‘Rice Dansela’ (free offer of foods) were also conducted at the same place in the evening. More than 2000 people enjoyed the meals served by the troops.
In addition, a large gathering of troops including senior Army officers together with civilians in the area watched Poson celebrations.
