SFHQ-W & SFHQ-C Conduct Training Programmes

A refresher course for Special Infantry Operations Training (SIOT) commenced on Wednesday (25) at the Battalion Training School, Kalyanipura.

On the instructions of Major General J.R Kulatunga, Commander, Security Forces-Wanni (SF- W), the training course began to refresh the knowledge of selected personnel who are already qualified in SIOT.

The course commenced after the renovation of the Training school with the blessings of the Commander, Forward Maintenance Area - North Central.

Altogether 4 officers and 32 other ranks enrolled to the training programme and Instructional assistance for the course was given by the 62 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni.

Major General J.R Kulatunga, Commander, SF-W graced the opening ceremony along with Major General B.H.M.A Wijesinghe, General Officer Commanding , 62 Division, Major General S.H.F.P Perera, Brigade Commanders of the 621 and 622 Brigades, Commanding Officers senior officers and other ranks.

Meanwhile, Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C) with a view to broadening the general knowledge of Army personnel launched one more round of Wednesday training programme under the guidance of Major General P.U.S Vithanage, Commander, Security Forces - Central.

Major H.M.J.W Bandara of the Special Forces delivered an interesting lecture on ‘Insurgency in Nagaland’. Warrant Officer G.M.A Dammika of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police also delivered a lecture for other rankers on the ‘Prevention from Motor Traffic Accidents’.

Those serving in Divisions, Forward Maintenance Areas (FMA), Brigades and Units of the SFHQ-C attended it on Wednesday (25).
