Troops of 68 Division serving under the Security Force Headquarters – Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) organized a New Year festival at the Pradeshiya Sabha grounds at Puthukudiyiruppu under the patronage of Major General P.U.S Vithanage, Commander, Security Forces Mullaittivu (SF-MLT) on Thursday (21).
During the festival, all folk games were held at the venue under the supervision of Brigadier P.A.D Kahapola, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 68 Division to coincide with the Bakmaha Ulela.
Major General P.U.S Vithanage, Commander, SFHQ-MLT together with other senior officers including GOC at 68 Division, Brigadier Admin and Quartering (BAQ), Brigade Commanders at 681 and 682 Brigades, Regional Secretary, Puthukudiyiruppu, Principals of the schools at the area, Regional Health Officer at Puthukudiyiruppu area, President of the Samatha Mandalaya, Puthukudiyiruppu, Officers, other ranks and villagers of Puthukudiyiruppu area participated in the festival.
A delicious lunch was arranged at the venue for all participants including civilians.
Winners of the games received gift parcels from the SF Commander Major General P.U.S Vithanage.
