SFHQ-KLN Organizes Netball Training Workshop &;amp; Lecture on Malaria


With the intention of promoting sport skills and interests among students in Kilinochchi schools, the Security Forces Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) organized a full-day workshop for netball players on Monday (28) at Kilinochchi public ground.

Over 60 students representing many Kilinochchi schools, together with woman coaches of the Army and a group of 6 Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps (SLAWC) took part in the practical sessions during the workshop. The move was aimed at further promoting bonds of friendship and goodwill.

Sport teachers of the respective schools, Colonel Nanda Hathurusinghe, Commander 571 Brigade, Commanding Officer 6 SLAWC, senior Army officers and some parents attended the occasion.

Meanwhile, the SFHQ-KLN conducted an awareness programme on the spread of Malaria at the SFHQ-KLN auditorium on Monday (28). Hundreds of troops serving the SFHQ-KLN listened to Dr Thiruban, Medical Officer in charge of Malaria at Kilinochchi hospital who delivered the lecture.

Several schools as well as Army formations under 65 and 66 Divisions also organized the same lecture at their respective places a few days ago.
