SFHQ-J Volleyball Tournament Competed by 21 Teams

A volleyball tournament, organized for all players in Brigades and Battalions under command to the Security Force Headquarters-Jaffna (SFHQ-J) with the aim of promoting teamwork spirits, personal connection and increasing the overall performance among the troops got underway before the final tussle was competed on Monday (20) at the SFHQ-J gymnasium.

The conceptual guidance of the Commander, Security Forces -Jaffna, Major General Swarna Bothota enabled the success of the event. A total number of 21 volleyball teams vied for supremacy in the tournament until the finalists, 4 Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police and 10 Field Engineer Regiment were selected to face the final encounter.

Volleyball players of the 4 Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police won the Championship in the Men’s category and 7 Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps won the Championship in the Women's category. 6 Sri Lanka Army Signal Corps players clinched the runner-up slot.

Major General Swarna Bothota, together with Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the certificate-awarding ceremony.
