Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) as is the practice every year took a series of measures to provide medical care and drinking water to thousands and thousands of devotees who took part in the annual Nallur Kovil’s annual festival that ended early this week.
Army troops also gave their fullest support to the Police for maintenance of law and order in the area since the numbers of devotees attending the Pooja were unprecedented setting a new record. Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe, Commander, SFHQ-J and Colonel Ramesh Shanmuganathan of the SFHQ-J participated in separate Poojas on behalf of the Army.
