SFHQ-J Officers Helping Hand to Differently Abled Girl Guides’ Camp

Security Force Headquarters – Jaffna (SFHQ-J) actively assisted to conduct a 5-day All Island Camp for Differently Abled Girl Guides at Nuffield School for Deaf and Blind in Kaithady, following arrangements made by the Girls’ Guide Association during 31 July – 4 August.

On the instructions of Major General Mahesh Senanayake, Commander, Security Forces- Jaffna (SF-J), troops in the 52 Division and 523 Brigade assisted the organizers by arranging the ground, erecting huts, providing the music band and other necessary requirements to make the camp a success.

During the arrangement, Hon Governor, Northern Province, Reginald Cooray graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, together with Major General Priyantha Jayasundara, General Officer Commanding (GOC) at 52 Division, Colonel Krishantha Gnanarathne, Commander, 523 Brigade, Mrs Mahiya Rafeek and Mrs Merlyn Dissanayake, Branch Director and Former Director at Differently Abled Sri Lanka Girl Guides’ Association and also Ms Vasuki Rajasingham, Principal of Nuffield School for Deaf and Blind.

In the evening, a musical fiesta was organized by the SFHQ-J troops to encourage the girl guides’ aesthetic and singing skills.
