The Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) celebrated its 23rd Anniversary with a series of events during 16-20 June. The series of programmes commenced on Sunday (16) with a Bodhi Pooja, followed by a solemn ceremony to lay floral tributes to the memory of fallen War Heroes at the War Heroes' Monument. An overnight Pirith Chanting continued till next morning (17).
Major General Darshana Hettiarrachchi, Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna, was greeted in a Guard of Honour by the troops and later he planted a sapling and proceeded to visit the Palaly Base Hospital. On the same day, an All Rank lunch was also organized as a part of anniversary celebrations.
Further, a Shramadana campaign was organized at the Cancer Hospital - Thelippalai plus a blood donation at the Army Base Hospital - Palaly. The staff of the Teaching Hospital - Jaffna cooperated with the project.
