A two-day workshop on International Humanitarian Law (IHL) organized by the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) for the troops serving in Units, Brigades and Divisions under the SFHQ-J was held during 14 - 15 June at the SFHQ-J auditorium.
The IHL workshop, coordinated by Directorate of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law of the Army Headquarters was conducted by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
The workshop focused on contemporary and future challenges, faced by military personnel and Commander’s Responsibility during International Armed Conflicts and Non International Armed Conflicts.
A large gathering of military personnel including Brigade Commanders and Commanding Officers of the Battalions of the SFHQ-J area of responsibility participated in the workshop.
