SFHQ-J 'Harmony Centre' Ready to Provide IT Training to Jaffna Children


Recognizing diverse civic-oriented welfare projects being carried out by the Army in Jaffna, ‘We Are One Sri Lanka’, an organization based in the UK, extended its support by donating 18 computers to the Security Force Headquarters-Jaffna (SFHQ-J) on Sunday (09) morning.

Mr. Mohan Samarasinghe, representing the organization handed over the computers, each to the value of Rs. 80,000/=, to Major General Priyatha Jayasundara, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 52 Division at the ‘Harmony Centre’ at Thalayalai, Kokuvil East.

Lieutenant Colonel Chandana Arangalla, Commanding Officer, 6 Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) coordinated the donation.

Those computers are used to give training to Jaffna students on Information Technology at the Harmony Centre, established on a concept of Major General Udaya Perera, Commander, SFHQ-J with the purpose of helping people in Jaffna in spheres like education, health, fisheries, women empowerment and so on.
   
Currently “We Are One Sri Lanka” is conducting community projects in many areas in the North.
