SFHQ-East & Its Divisions at Work to Produce Organic Fertilizer

Giving a boost to the government's organic fertilizer production process as per directions of the Directorate of Agriculture and Livestock, troops under the Security Force HQ -East on the directions of Major General Channa Weerasuriya, Commander Security Forces East are presently producing organic fertilizer at several processing sites in under command Divisions.

Through this project, it is expected to produce 3600 metric tons of compost fertilizer, required for the Maha Season 2021. Nearly, 1000 metric tons have already been produced under this project.

This programme was carried out in line with the Army’s green drive 'Thuru Mithuru Nawa Ratak' concept, initiated by the Commander of the Army, General Shavendra Silva.
