Troops serving the Security Force Headquarters, East (SFHQ-E) carried out several collective projects, including Shramadana campaigns, lunch packet distribution and performances for the benefit of inhabitants in the area.
Troops of 16 Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery serving under the 232 Brigade and the 23 Division recently, distributed lunch packets among 50 residents of Kudumbimalai area.
At the same occasion, tree saplings were also distributed among those same residents with the objective of prompting tree planting practices.
In the meantime, troops of the same regiment and headquarters conducted Shramadana campaigns at Anurapura Temple premises on Wednesday (12) to keep the area free from garbage and to create a conducive atmosphere for the devotees.
On the same day, those troops conducted Shramadhana campaigns at Anurapura School premises in order to keep the area free from garbage.
Meanwhile, on a suggestion made by Major General Lal Perera, Commander, SFHQ-E, troops of 18 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment serving under the 231 Brigade of 23 Division, organized performance of dramas, produced by the actress, Anoja Weerasinghe for teachers, students and youth in Batticaloa area.
The drama staged at Kalaiwan School on Saturday (8) addressed issues related to illegal migration and possible solutions for day-today issues.
