In a heart-warming display of camaraderie and festive spirits, the Security Force Headquarters (SFHQ-East) had a social gathering for All Ranks and their family members on account of Christmas and the dawn of 2024 New Year on 22 December at SFHQ-East premises in Welikanda.
Nearly, a crowd of 300 soldiers and their family members and children afterwards came together to stage a spectacular Christmas musical show, spreading cheer and joy. Leaving lasting memories in the unique setting of a military base, all children and adults as well as All Ranks joined hands together to add fun and amusement to the day.
All those features were conducted on the directions of Major General M.K.U.P Gunaratne RSP ndu psc IG, Commander, Security Forces - East and with the active support of All Ranks in the Security Force HQ-East. T
he day's spectacle featured a diverse cast of performers, displaying the hidden talents within the military ranks and their children, soldiers and their family members and kids. The day's arrangements proved that there is more to the military community than meets the eye.
To make the evening even more memorable, the East Commander interacted with all soldiers and their families during the event. The Santa Claus spread joy and gratitude throughout the camp by giving Christmas gifts to the children. These unexpected moments added an extra layer of excitement and surprise, leaving everyone in high spirits.
In addition, a delicious dinner was provided to all the participants in the memorable evening. The Christmas musical show in the Eastern Headquarters later in the evening added glamour to the event as melodies of popular hits began reverberating.
