SFHQ - East Bids Farewell to Outgoing Commander, SF-East

The troops of Security Forces Headquarters - East (SFHQ - East) arranged a formal ceremony to bid farewell to outgoing Commander of Security Forces - East (SF -East), Major General M.K.U.P. Gunaratne RSP ndu psc IG, on 15 April 2024 at SFHQ - East.

In accordance with military traditions, a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour were accorded before he marked the end of his tenure by signing the official handing-over document at the office premises.

Adding memories to the day, the outgoing Commander of SF -East was invited to pose for a group photograph and unveiled his portrait at the office complex.

In his address to all Ranks, the Commander, SF -East expressed appreciation for the commitment and dedication demonstrated by all ranks during his tenure.

The formalities for the day concluded with an All-Ranks tea, providing an opportunity for the outgoing Commander, SF -East to interact with all Ranks. Additionally, a farewell dinner was hosted at the Officers’ Mess on the same evening.

The General Officer Commanding, 23 Infantry Division, Commander Logistic Command - East, Brigade Commanders, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and civil employees participated in the event.
