Two philanthropists from the South spending their own money got two abandoned library buildings renovated, thanks to the engineering and technical expertise, offered by the troops in the Security Force Headquarters-East (SFHQ-E) and vested them back with the same two schools on Friday (6) during simple ceremonies.

Philanthropists, Mrs Saroja Munasinghe and Ramani Narangoda spent about Rs 550,000/= for renovation and re-erection of library buildings in Dimbulana Junior School and Singhapura Junior School in Welikanda after dilapidated conditions of those buildings were brought to their notice by Major General Nandana Senadeera, Commander Security Forces-East.

The formal handover ceremony of those library buildings took place in the presence of those donors who also entertained them to fruits and sweetmeats before they were gifted with a stock of school accessories.
