Troops belonging to several formations of the Security Force Headquarters-East (SFHQ-E) organized varied welfare projects on Thursday (28).
A Shramadana campaign was organized by the troops of 6 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) under the 221 Brigade of 22 Division at Girihanduseya, Thiriyaya on Thursday (28).
During the campaign, troops cleaned up the temple premises.
Meanwhile, troops of 23 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) under the 242 Brigade of 24 Division organized a Drug Prevention and Awareness Programme for students and academic staff at Sinhapura Sinhala Vidyalaya on Thursday (28).
Instructors from Sri Lanka Police conducted the awareness programme.
Five teachers and fifty school children attended the programme.
