Troops of the 12 Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) and the 8 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) under the 232 Brigade of the 23 Division in the Security Force Headquarters-East (SFHQ-E), distributed approximately 2000 cashew plants with the sponsorship of Dilmah (Pvt) Limited among members of the general public in Kudumbimale, Pulipanchikal and Pulakadu with the intention of promoting their economic standards.
12 SLA troops distributed 141 cashew plants in Kudumbimale GS Division with the participation of Brigade Commander, 232 Brigade at Kumaran School, Kudumbimale on Saturday (24).
On the same day, troops of the 8 SLNG distributed 800 cashew plants among villagers in Pulipanchikal. Brigade Commander, 232 Brigade participated in the distribution programme in Pulipanchikal Vidyalaya.
Meanwhile, as part of the programme, 1000 cashew plants were distributed by 8 SLNG troops to the people in Pulakadu with the participation of the Civil Affairs Officer, 232 Brigade at Pulakudu Vidyalaya on Sunday (25).
