Troops of the 2 and 12 Gajaba Regiment (GR) and 5 Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) under 221, 224 and 231 Brigades of 22 and 23 Divisions of the Security Force Headquarters East (SFHQ-E) conducted ‘Shramadana’ campaigns to clear the surroundings of Manayaweli St. Mary’s Church, Linganagar Elders Home, Patalipuram Family Health Centre, Pattlipuram Public Ground and the Mari Amman Kovil in Trincomalee area in the past week.
Meanwhile, 23 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) troops under the 242 Brigade of the 24 Division organized an awareness programme on ‘Wild Elephant Attacks’ for Grade 10-13 students at Lahugala Maha Vidyalaya with the co-operation of Army officers and teachers. Wild Life officials of Lahugala delivered lectures in the programme.
