SFHQ-Central Troops Launch Free Distribution of 400 Milk Packets with Sponsor's Support

Troops of the Security Force Headquarters-Central (SFHQ – Central) with the objective of providing relief to low-income group families with children in poverty-stricken Badalkumbura area in Monaragala District, launched a free milk powder packet distribution project on Tuesday (28) on an initiative taken by Major General Samantha Silva, Commander, Security Forces-Central.

Sponsorship for the project was extended by Mr Nimal Gamage, Managing Director at Fonterra Company Ltd at the request of the Central Commander. The distribution arrangements for 400 milk powder packets was organized by 7 Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) troops of Security Forces Headquarters - Central at Badallkubura Nissanka National School. Those deserving families were selected with the coordination of respective Grama Seva officials and the Divisional Secretariat.

Major General Samantha Silva graced the inaugural distributing occasion as the Chief Guest in the school premises.

Senior Officers, Second in Command of the 7 SLSC HQ, OIC at Badalkumbura Police Station, Principal at Badallkumbura Nissanka National School, Other Ranks and beneficiaries participated in the project.
