Troops serving under the Security Force HQ-Central (SFHQ-Central) at Diyatalawa arranged a series of events on account of the ‘Poson’ festival under the guidance of Major General W.R.M.M Rathnayake RWP RSP USP ndu, Commander, SF-Central on Poson Poya day (June 03).
Troops arranged a free eatery (Dansela) at the Diyatalawa town with the collaboration of the Diyatalawa Businessmen’s Association and organized a ‘Poson’ zone at Haldummulla Public Stadium, comprised of many Poson lanterns. Further, another Poson lantern exhibition got underway at Mahamewna Meditation Centre, Kumbalwela where troops designed and crafted Poson lanterns at both places.
Moreover, religious observances were conducted including a ‘Dhamma’ sermon and a ‘Bodhi Pooja’ at the SFHQ-Central premises. Commander, SF-Central, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks took part in the series of events.
