Troops of several formations serving under the Security Force Headquarters-Central (SFHQ-C) took part in various welfare projects during the month of May.
Troops of 12th Battalion Gemunu Watch (GW), on the directions of the Commanding Officer, conducted a ‘Shramadana’ campaign together with civilians at Maligawila Raja Maha Viharaya in Moneragala on 10 May and helped the temple to get rid of garbage.
Meanwhile, troops of 2(V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) under the 111 Brigade conducted a welfare programme for the inmates at King George V Silver Jubilee Memorial Home for Elders on 15 May. The troops inquired the well-being of the inmates and conducted a ‘Shramadana’ campaign to clean up the Elders’ Home premises.
