To coincide with the 69th Independence Day, troops of the Security Force Headquarters-Central (SFHQ-C) launched a ‘Shramadana’ campaign in the town area of Diyatalawa on Friday (3).
This community project got underway on the directions and guidance of Major General P.U.S Vithanage, Commander, Security Forces-Central (SF-C).
Members of Diyatalawa Divisional Secretariat, Bandarawela Provincial Road Development Authority, Diyathalawa Police Station, Haputale Pradeshiya Sabha, Diyatalawa United Trade Union and students at Diyatalawa Maha Vidyalaya joined hands with Army troops of the SFHQ-C and other units to make the ‘Shramadana’ programme a success.
People’s Bank sponsored the programme.
Divisional Secretary for Haputale, Manager, People’s Bank, Diyatalawa and Officer In Charge in Diyatalawa Police Station attended as distinguished guests.
More than 175 Army personnel together with more than 100 representatives of private companies and 52 school students participated in the ‘Shramadana’ campaign.
Brigadier N. K Wadugodapitiya, Brigadier General Staff, SFHQ-C and Colonel P. A Kaluarachchi, Brigadier Admin & Quartering, SFHQ-C attended the programme.
