Following the approval of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Chrishanthe De Silva and close supervision of the Directorate of Welfare, the People’s Bank, Diyatalawa Branch organized a lecture to Army personnel at the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C) on Thursday (25).
Colonel S.B Kohone, Commandant, Volunteer Force Training School (VFTS) conducted the welcome speech before the programme commenced.
During the lecture, Mr Kapila Wijerathne, a Bank Assistant at People’s Bank, Diyatalawa educated Army personnel on E-Banking with People’s Bank and also introduced new loan system on concessionary interest rates. He further explained Army personnel could receive special benefits when they do monetary transactions with People’s Bank as a special favour.
A few more than 100 Army personnel including, Officers and Other Ranks serving under the SFHQ-C listened to the lecture.
