The 61 Infantry Division hosted a Diners' Club event on 28 May 2024 at the Banquet Hall of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) in Boossa. The event was highlighted with an insightful lecture delivered by Major General S.W.M Fernando WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil, the Commander of Security Forces (West), on the topic 'Military Strategic Leadership Through Professionalism and Intellectualism.'
The event, organized under the direction of Major General K.H.M.S Wikramaratne RSP, General Officer Commanding of the 61 Infantry Division, aimed to enhance the knowledge and confidence of Officers amidst their demanding duties. The insightful lecture of the Commander of Security Forces (West) emphasized the importance of combining professionalism with intellectual growth in military leadership.
A total of 77 Officers including the Deputy General Officer Commanding of the 61 Infantry Division, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, attended the event.
