SF-West Troops Launch 'Booster' Vaccination Drive in 8 Districts

The Security Force HQ-West (SFHQ-West) in parallel with the re-launch of vaccination of the booster dose to the general public as per guidelines given by General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army on Monday (31) began its mobile vaccination drive covering eight districts in the island.

Joint troops of the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps and those from respective Divisions and Brigades under command to the SFHQ-West accordingly conducted mobile vaccination centres in congested areas of Colombo, Gampaha, Puttalam, Kurunegala, Kegalle, Ratnapura, Kalutara and Galle districts on the instructions of Major General Kithsiri Liyanage, Commander, Security Forces -West.

Respective General Officers Commanding in Divisions, Brigade Commanders and Commanding Officers in battalions under command to the SFHQ-West coordinated the conduct of those mobile vaccination centres after selecting the most wanted areas with high concentrations.

Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps troops serving the Panagoda Army Base Hospital also contributed to the success of the vaccination programme. The mobile service would continue until further notice.
