Troops of the Security Force HQ- West (SFHQ-West) on Tuesday (15 Aug) bade farewell to the outgoing Commander, SF-West, Major General D.M.K.D.B Pussella RWP RSP during a simple ceremony at the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West) in Panagoda.
Adding memories to the day, he posed for a few photographs and attended refreshments with the Officers and exchanged pleasantries. Afterwards, he joined an All-Rank lunch and addressed the troops, expressing gratitude for their valuable service during his tenure as the West Commander. Subsequently, a token of appreciation for his outstanding leadership and dedication was presented to Major General D.M.K.D.B. Pussella RWP RSP on the same occasion.
A customary farewell dinner in the same evening was hosted later in the evening in honour of the outgoing West Commander by Officers of all under-command Infantry Divisions, Brigades and units.
Meanwhile, prior to relinquishment of his appointment as the Commander, SF-West, Major General D.M.K.D.B. Pussella RWP RSP visited Divisions, Brigades and Battalions that are under command to the SF-West and addressed the troops.
Deputy General Officer Commanding of the 14 Infantry Division, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the SF-West participated in the day’s programme.
