The ‘Veterans’ Get-together’ of the Special Forces (SF) Regiment was held at the SF Regimental Centre in Naula, coincident with the 27th Regimental day of the Special Forces during 9 - 10 December 2023.
The regimental day events included several features giving pride of place to the religious blessings, inclusive of a ‘Pirith’ chanting ceremony, commemoration of war heroes and interactive projects.
The veterans’ association received support and guidance extended by Colonel of the Regiment and General Officer Commanding, 57 Infantry Division, Major General J.P.C Peiris RWP RSP ndc and the SF Centre Commandant.
Many veterans Major General G Hettiarachchi (Rtd) WWV RWP RSP VSV USP psc - founder father of the Special Forces, Colonel W.M.J Fernando (Rtd) WWV RWP RSP USP, Major General M Mudannayaka (Rtd) RSP USP, Major General D.G.S Senarath Yapa (Rtd) RWP RSP ndu, Commandant of National Defence College, along with several Senior Officers of the association and WO 1 R S Mamaduwa (Rtd) RWP RSP along with several Other Ranks of the association participated in the event.
