Troops of the Security Forces – East (SF-East) organized a colorful Vesak Zone under the guidance of Major General S.A Kulatunge RWP RSP VSV USP psc, Commander, SF-East during 23 - 26 May 2024 at Welikanda town.
The Commander, SF-East graced the occasion as the chief guest and declared open the Vesak Zone amidst religious observances. Afterwards, the gathering conducted a tour and the Commander, SF-East appreciated the efforts of troops.
Later on, the rice dansala (free giveaway) which was organized at the zone, was opened to the civilians by the Commander, SF-East, facilitating nearly 8000 commuters of Polonnaruwa - Batticaloa road and people around Welikanda. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of SF-East also took part in the event.
