SF-E Commander Lays Foundation Stone at Mailankarachchi Sri Mahindaramaya, New Building

At the invitation of the chief incumbent of the Mailankarachchi Sri Mahindaramaya temple, Valachchenai, the Commander, Security Forces-East (SF-E) Major General Darshana Hettiarrachchi, laid the foundation stone for a two-storied Vishrama Shala (Rest Room) building at Mailankarachchi Sri Mahindaramaya temple at the auspicious minute on Saturday (12), amidst religious blessings.

Brigadier Nanda Hathurusinghe, Brigadier Strategies and Doctorines at Army Training Command (ARTRAC), Col S T Priyadarshana, General Officer Commanding, 233 Brigade (Overlooking) together with Mr Kamal Harischandra, the owner of ‘Polgasowita Stores’ from Polgasowita and Mr S A Somarathna, Justice of the Peace from Colombo, joined hands with the Commander SF-E for the cornerstone-laying event.

A gathering of troops and approximately 300 civilians in the village attended the event.

Mr Kamal Harishchandra and Justice of the Peace Mr S A Somachandra provided financial assistance to the project.
