Several formations under the Security Force Headquarters-Wanni (SFHQ-W) bade farewell to Major General Boniface Perera upon his relinquishment of the appointment of the Commander, SFHQ-W, during 11-13 January to take up a new appointment at the Army Headquarters.
Major General Perera visited the 62 Division Headquarters on 11 January where he was received by the General Officer Commanding, 62 Division. A Guard Turnout, presented by the 62 Division troops saluted the Wanni Commander and Major General Perera in his address thanked all the officers and other ranks.
Afterwards, Major General Boniface Perera visited the Veherathanna Resettled Village where he was welcomed by the villagers. Those people were esettled during the tenure of Major Gneral Perera as the Wanni Commander. In his address, Major General Boniface Perera wished the villagers all the success in their future projects.
On 12 January, Major General Boniface Perera visited the 54 Division in Mannar and visited the Main Dressing point at the 54 Division where he gave away gift parcels to the inmates.
Major General Boniface Perera visited the 4 (V) Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps (SLAWC) and the Army Base Hospital on 13 January where he was welcomed by respective commanding officers.
