Mr Nimal Karunathilake, Director Finance in the Sri Lanka Army on the eve of his departure to take up a new appointment at the Ministry of Education paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage on Tuesday (3) at the Army Headquarters.
The outgoing Director Finance in the Sri Lanka Army was received by the Army Chief before interactions got underway. At first, he congratulated Mr Nimal Karunathilake on his new promotion as the Chief Finance Officer at the Ministry of Education. Both of them during the friendly meeting recalled past memories and challenges that had to be faced in the management of Army finances, and how they overcame all the difficult times.
Towards the end of the interactions, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage, expressing his deep gratitude to the outgoing state official presented a special memento as a token of goodwill and appreciation.
Mr Karunathilaka was appointed as the Deputy Director Finance, Sri Lanka Army on 8 September 2008 and continued the service in the same appointment till he was elevated to the appointment of Director Finance, Sri Lanka Army on 21 March 2018. He has been lending his valuable service to the Army since then.
