Senior Officers Extend Support to Victims of Fox Hill Tragedy

Under the directives of Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, the Army Commander, a group of Senior Officers from the Sri Lanka Army reached out to the victims affected by the Fox Hill tragedy to deliver essential aid and support to ensure the well-being and resilience of the affected individuals.

Major General W.H.K.S Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndu, Chief of Staff, Major General W.W.H.R.R.V.M.N.D.K.B Niyangoda RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc, Adjutant General, Major General M.T.I Mahalekam WWV RWP RSP USP ndu psc, Commandant of Sri Lanka Military Academy, Diyatalawa and Major General S.R.B Aluvihare RWP RSP ndu psc, the Commander of Security Forces - Central accordingly engaged in the visit to the victims and their families.

During the visit, the Senior Officers personally visited the family members of Late Miss. Shavikumar Dhanushika (08 yrs) and Late Mr. Muttushami Udayakumar (55 yrs) residing in Welimada, Late Mr. Chamath Niroshan (19 yrs) residing in Seeduwa, Late Corporal R. Abeyanayake (32 yrs) residing in Awissawella, Late Mr. Upali Gamage (62 yrs) and Late Mr. Kamalanath Jayawardena (60 yrs) residing in Matara and Late Mr. Hashen Heenatigala (20 yrs) residing in Akuressa expressing sincere condolences for the unfortunate incident and provided dry rations and essential supplies to the bereaved family members.

The group of victims tragically lost their lives at the Fox Hill accident on 21 April 2024 at the Fox Hill Supercross track after admitting to the hospital in the area.
