Troops of Security Forces (West), together with the Sri Lanka Army Buddhist Association and members of the Sri Saman Meth Sansadaya, conducted Vesak celebrations at Bodhirajaramaya Army Temple, Panagoda on 12 and 13 May 2025 under the guidance of Major General U.K.D.D.P. Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc, Commander, Security Forces (West).
The event offered the public a chance to worship sacred relics enshrined in the fragrance chambers of Sri Saman Meth Sansadaya. Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, Chief of Staff of the Army, graced the occasion and paid homage to the relics.
A belimal and jackfruit dansela was also conducted, along with a display of Vesak lanterns. Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, members of Sri Saman Meth Sansadaya and devotees took part in the celebration.
