A two-day workshop on Military in Internal Security Operations (MISO) was conducted by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Delegation at Security Forces Headquarters - West on 2 and 3 July 2024. Under the guidance of Major General S.W.M Fernando RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, Commander of Security Forces - West, this workshop was organized by the Directorate of Legal Services, Human Rights, and Humanitarian Law with the aim of enhancing Officers' knowledge on this critical subject.
The sessions were conducted by Brigadier General (Retd) Lloyd Gillett - Regional Delegate to Armed Forces of Southeast Asia, Indonesia & East Timor for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), an ICRC representative, and Mr. Channa Jayawardhana, an experienced Armed and Security Program Advisor. Forty-five Senior Officers and Officers participated in the workshop.
