The Security Forces Headquarters (Central) celebrated the Sinhala and Tamil New Year on 09 April 2025 at Muthu Kumaaru Ground, Diyatalawa.
Major General K.A.W.N.H Bandaranayake USP, Commander, Security Forces (Central), graced the event as the Chief Guest.
The celebration commenced with the lighting of the traditional oil lamp, followed by a variety of traditional games such as cross-country running, climbing the greasy pole, pillow fighting, tug of war, obstacle running, selection of the New Year Prince and Princess and many more. At the conclusion of the event, the winners were presented with valuable gifts.
Meanwhile, under the guidance of Colonel B.D.T.D Jayarathna psc, Commander of 122 Infantry Brigade, the troops of 122 Infantry Brigade organised the Bakmaha Festival on 19 April 2025 at the Brigade Headquarters Ground.
Major General W.S.N Hemarathna RWP RSP psc, General Officer Commanding of the 12 Infantry Division, graced the event as the Chief Guest.
