Major General J.P.C. Peiris RWP RSP ndc, Commander of the Security Force (Wanni), participated in the ‘Pichcha Mal Pujawa’ held at Jaya Sri Maha Bodhiya on 27 July 2024.
The event was organised by the Shanthi Padanama for the 33rd consecutive year and commenced with the ceremonial procession of the Sacred Relic Casket of Lord Buddha to Jaya Sri Maha Bodhiya.
The ceremonial offering took place with the participation of Venerable Halmillewe Saddhathissa Nayaka Thero, a member of the Sangha Committee and Deputy Chief Sanganayake of the North Central Province of the Amarapura Mulawanshika Maha Nikaya.
As the culmination of the event, a Dharma Sermon was conducted by the Maha Sangha.
The General Officer Commanding of the 14 and 21 Infantry Divisions, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, and a large number of devotees, participated in the event.
