Security Force HQ -West Troops Support Hospitals on Strike

Troops of the 12 Field Engineers and 1 Sri Lanka Pioneer Corps under the 61 Division extended their assistance to Nagoda and Panadura Base Hospitals respectively for management of skeletal health services after sections of nursing assistants and minor staff went on strike over trade union demands on Wednesday (01).

The Commander Security Forces -West, Major General Senarath Senarath Yapa on the directions of General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Army and Head of the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID 19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) instructed the General Officer Commanding, 61 Division to rush Army teams for administrative support. Commander, 612 Brigade and Commanding Officer 12 Field Engineers and Commanding Officer 1 Sri Lanka Pioneer Corps closely observed the troop contribution for those emergency duties.
