THE SECOND COURT MARTIAL resumed its sittings to hear charges against General Sarath Fonseka Tuesday (4) afternoon as scheduled. However, General Sarath Fonseka was not present for the proceedings.
The Court Martial adjourned and directed the escorting officer to produce the respondent before the Court Martial at 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday (5) for proceedings.
The tribunal maintained that no official intimation over his absence for the proceedings has been formally made to the Court Martial.
All other administrative arrangements in connection with his participation in the proceedings had however been kept in place by the Army.
The second Court Martial is to sit again at 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday (5). (Ends)
