Second ASVU Relief Consignment Taken to Bulathkohupitiya

One more consignment of relief supplies, organized by the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU), following initiatives taken by Mrs Nayana de Silva, President, ASVU on the directions of the Commander of the Army, reached landslide-hit Bulathkohupitiya, Deraniyagala areas on Friday (20).

Spending a sum of Rs 1 million, the ASVU membership with the support of the ASVU office staff prepared relief parcels containing clothes, powder milk packets, rice, dhal, soap and other essentials for distribution among the victims at Bulathkohupitiya.

A group of senior ASVU ladies, ASVU members, members of the ASVU office staff and other rankers went to relief centres and mingled with them, in order to learn more about their needs before those relief items were distributed among them in consultation with government officials at those centres for the displaced.
