WANNI: TROOPS recovered four 81 mm mortar bombs, one GPMG weapon, one T-56 weapon, three Rocket Propelled Grenades and thirteen hand grenades from the general areas of PULIYANPOKKANEI and VISUAMADU on Sunday (21).
In a separate search and clear operation, troops recovered five anti personnel mines, fifty-eight T-56 ammunition rounds, three 81 mm mortar bombs, four hand grenades from the general areas of UDAYARKATTUKULAM, ALANKULAM, AMPAKAMAM and OLUMADU.
Meanwhile, one more search operation conducted in troops recovered two detonators, seven 60 mm mortar bombs, seventy-two anti personnel mines, one shot gun, five modified bombs, one 40 mm grenade launcher, nine RPG bombs, one 82 mm mortar bomb, three RPG chargers, two firing devices, six 60 mm mortar chargers, seventeen 60 mm mortar fuses, seven petal gun ammunition rounds, one pistol, sixty rice tine, one 60 mm mortar bomb, one RPG bomb and two hundred MPMG ammunition rounds from the general area of AMPELAVANPOKKANAI.
In the meantime, search and clear operations conducted in SARUVALTHOTTAM area, troops recovered thirty-six claymore switches, eight remote controllers, one hundred and ten modified bombs, one weapon, three thousand pen torch batteries, thirty-one claymore mines, 150 kg of C-4 explosives, 9 kg of PEK explosives, 56 kg of TNT explosives, two suicide jackets, one T-56 weapon, and seventy-eight weapon manuals.
Meanwhile, troops recovered one 2.5 kg heavy claymore mine, one 7.5 kg heavy claymore mine, one 15 kg heavy claymore mine, one 20 kg heavy claymore mine, four hundred and fifty-seven MPMG ammunition rounds, one hundred and twenty T-56 ammunition rounds, seven sniper magazines, four remote controllers, two shotguns, thirty-six T-56 magazines, three M-16 magazines, ninety-seven mess tines, seven maps, seventy-eight T-56 ammunition rounds and one hand grenade from the general areas of PUTHUKUDIRIPPU, KADIRAVODDY and MANKADU.
